Why a single number is never the whole story
Power level is contextual. A deck that dominates a casual table can struggle in an optimized pod, and a slow deck with heavy interaction can beat faster decks that ignore it. Any number — including ours — is an estimate, not an objective truth.
That is why DeckOS shows the reasoning behind its estimate. You can see what raises your deck's ceiling and what limits it, then decide for yourself how to describe it to your group.
Factors that shape the estimate
- Speed — how early the deck can threaten to win or lock the game.
- Consistency — how often it executes its plan, driven by tutors, draw and redundancy.
- Interaction — how well it stops opponents, especially at instant speed.
- Tutors — how reliably it finds key pieces.
- Combos — whether compact, early infinite combos are present.
- Resilience — how well it recovers from wipes and removal.
- Mana efficiency — fast mana, low curve and free spells.
- Win conditions — how many and how hard they are to stop.
Brackets, explained
DeckOS maps decks to the Commander bracket system, from exhibition and core decks up to optimized and competitive lists. Each analysis lists what increases your bracket — for example game changers, extra-turn chains or two-card combos — and what limits it, such as a high curve or minimal tutoring.
If your deck lands higher than you expected, the list of increases tells you exactly what to swap to bring it down. If it lands lower, you can see what is holding it back.
Use it before game night
Sharing a power estimate with reasons helps everyone pick decks that match. Once you know where each deck sits, the Commander Pod Analyzer can compare the whole table and show who is the favorite and why.
Frequently asked questions
Is the power level score objective?
No score can be. DeckOS gives a contextual estimate and shows every factor behind it so you can judge it yourself.
Does it use the official Commander brackets?
Yes. Estimates are expressed as brackets, with the cards and patterns that push the deck up or down.
